Why we set up in Delray Beach
Firms are shaped by where they are. A consultancy in a glass tower in a coastal tech capital builds a certain kind of thing. A boutique in a college town builds another. We are in Delray Beach, Florida, and that is not an accident.
The first reason is the clients. Palm Beach County has an unusual density of operating executives — founders of private companies, leaders of family offices, partners at professional services firms — who run real businesses with real cashflows and who are, on the whole, skeptical of technology theater. They have seen three generations of enterprise software cycles. They are not interested in AI as a topic. They are interested in whether the thing works on Tuesday. That is exactly the audience we wanted to serve, and being within a short drive of them matters in ways a calendar link cannot replicate.
The second reason is the pace. South Florida's business culture is quieter and slower than the coasts it is often lumped in with. Deals happen in person. Relationships compound. A firm here is judged over years rather than quarters, and reputation travels by conversation rather than press release. That cadence suits the way we want to work: small roster, deep relationships, no pressure to manufacture quarterly announcements.
The third reason is more personal. The senior people at IguanAI have done the large-market thing — Wall Street, enterprise software, big-box retail, healthcare technology — and concluded that the best work of our careers happened when we were close enough to a problem to smell it. Being based here keeps us close to the problems. When a client describes a bottleneck in their operations team, we can be sitting with that team the next morning. That is a different product than remote consulting, and it compounds faster.
None of this is exclusionary. We have clients and partners across the country and will continue to. But the center of gravity is here, on purpose. If you are in Palm Beach County and would rather meet in person than on a video call, we would prefer that too. Coffee is on us.
